Hourly Pay Range:

$24.86 - $37.29 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

  • Position: Research Coordinator
  • Location: Evanston, IL
  • Full Time/Part Time: Full time
  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 7am - 7:30pm
  • Required Travel: throughout the System, across sites, as needed

What you will do:

Research Coordinator - OB/GYN supports obstetric research studies investigating chronic stress and disparities in pregnancy outcomes. Under general supervision, this person will assist with:

  • Study management including submitting IRB documentation
  • Identifying, recruiting and enrolling patients for clinical studies
  • Obtaining consent and specimens, and collecting/maintaining data
  • Preparation of materials for presentation and publication
  • The overall focus of the research is to reduce disparities in pregnancy outcomes for vulnerable birthing populations.
  • This research will involve recruitment of pregnant people into various observational, interventional, quant and qual-methods based studies
  • The Research Coordinator will assist with manuscript preparation, new grant proposals, and abstract writing
  • The position may also involve working with community partners

What you will need:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree (preferably in social, biological or healthcare sciences) required
  • Experience:
    • Six months minimum experience as a research assistant in human subjects research (or equivalent position) required
    • Experience facilitating recruitment and follow up strategies with clinic personnel and operational problem solving
  • Unique or Preferred Skills:
    • Obstetrics & Gynecology or Maternal Child Health research experience preferred, phlebotomy skills beneficial but not required
    • Ability to speak Spanish preferred, but not required
    • Excellent organization, time management, problem solving and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
    • Ability to interact in a professional and sensitive manner with medical personnel, research subjects, research collaborators, community groups and other research staff
    • Must be able to work independently or with minimal supervision, and show initiative
    • Basic computer skills required, experience with Excel preferred
