Position Summary

The Flex Tech is responsible for acting as a cross functional partner within the supply chain value stream while practicing lean initiatives. This position will flex work between material handling, shipping and receiving when needed to ensure a steady and balanced work environment. This position will advocate and actively participate in High Performance Teams (HPT) and support the Corporate Win Strategy.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions for Material Handling, Shipping and Receiving:

  • Responsible for ensuring the value stream maintains a consistent workflow for production by providing materials to team members and supports the value streams.

  • Supply and deliver materials to assembly personnel promptly.

  • Ensure materials being utilized match the router pick list.

  • Create and print product labels.

  • Consolidate proper materials and packaging labels to create a complete product.

  • Assist to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of inventory levels.

  • Receive and return materials to proper location using a computer inventory process system.

  • Receive and stock product into desired location by using computer software

  • Process and pack shipments to ensure on time delivery

  • Put away materials for departments using equipment such as handheld power pallet jacks and forklifts

  • Follow inventory assignment directions using numbers and decimals

  • Safe forklift operation and safety initiatives involved with forklift operation

  • Read and interpret documents containing symbols, graphs, charts, and coordinates

  • Work with management, buyer/planners, cell leads and team members from multiple departments to assist with work orders, the supply and delivery of materials and supporting other functions throughout the facility.

  • Support other functions throughout the facility

  • Perform these and other duties as requested by the supervisor and cell lead.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education

  • High School Diploma/GED equivalent required.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Manufacturing and forklift experience preferred.

  • Must be willing to obtain a forklift license and certified to use walker/stacker and handheld power pallet jacks.

  • Ability to use inspection/test equipment, fixtures and hand tools as needed.

  • Must be able to sustain or use moderate physical effort working with weights up to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to work from detailed written or verbal instructions.

  • Knowledge of basic mathematics.

  • Efficiency with essential computer functions and data entry.

  • Must be able to work overtime during the week and weekends including Saturdays as needed.
