Inova Health is seeking a dedicated Medication Utilization Pharmacist to join the team. This role will be full-time Monday - Friday. |Sign-on Bonus & relocation assistance eligible.

Clinical Pharmacist Job Responsibilities:

  • Supports optimization of medication utilization to ensure the safe, clinically effective, and cost-effective medication use and availability across the Inova Health System.
  • Develop clinical and operational drug shortage management strategies to ensure optimal use of available medications in collaboration with clinical and operational pharmacy teams.
  • Collects, analyzes, and disseminates information on medication utilization, and integrate with systems and processes including clinical, safety, prescribing, administration, procurement, and distribution systems to optimize medication use across the Inova Health System.
  • Serve as the Pharmacist-In-Charge at the Pharmacy Warehouse and help support operations at the site.

  • Provides accurate, adequate, and timely drug shortage information to the professional staff and contributes to newsletters for physicians and other healthcare professionals.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or Bachelor degree in Pharmacy.

  • Experience: Five (5) years as a clinical Pharmacist. Minimum One (1) year of experience in clinical and operational drug shortage management strategies.

  • Licensed Pharmacist in the state of VA.

  • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
