Role Overview We're seeking a future team member for the role of Director, Platform Delivery Lead - Communications to join our Communications organization. This role is in New York and will report to the Global Head of Communications. This is a highly strategic and execution-oriented leadership role focused on advancing the Communications practice through transformational programs, operating model improvements, and capability-building. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across Communications and the broader Corporate Affairs hub to identify priorities, shape initiatives, and lead end-to-end delivery of programs that modernize how Communications operates, partners with the business and ultimately delivers value. This role will have a particular focus on helping the function adopt new ways of working, including AI-enabled tools and practices, while strengthening team capability, consistency, and impact. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
Lead end-to-end delivery of strategic programs that enhance the effectiveness, scalability, and impact of the Communications function, from concept and design through execution, adoption, and measurement.
Engage with senior stakeholders to understand what they need from a modern communications function and translate those needs into practical and actionable, high-value solutions, processes, and programs.
Drive programs that uplift and upskill Communications talent, with a strong emphasis on building fluency, confidence, and effective use of AI tools, automation, and emerging technologies in day-to-day communications work.
Identify and develop initiatives that originate within Communications but create broader value across the Corporate Affairs hub, helping strengthen collaboration, efficiency, and shared capabilities.
Help shape and evolve the Communications operating model, including governance, workflows, prioritization approaches, and ways of working that improve execution discipline and strategic partnership.
Establish clear success metrics, milestones, and reporting for key programs; use data, stakeholder feedback, and outcomes analysis to drive continuous improvement and adoption.
Partner effectively across functions including Corporate Affairs, Marketing, Technology, People Team, Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure programs are well-designed, executable, and aligned to enterprise requirements.
Scan the external environment for best practices in communications transformation, AI enablement, capability-building, and operating model design to help position the team for future needs.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
12-15+ years of relevant experience in communications, transformation, strategy, operating model, program delivery, or related fields, with a track record of leading complex, enterprise-wide initiatives and influencing at senior levels.
Deep understanding of how a modern communications function operates and creates value, including strategic communications, executive communications, internal communications, campaign planning, content operations, and measurement.
Demonstrated experience driving / executing transformational programs, including process redesign, capability-building, change adoption, operating model enhancement, or cross-functional business improvement initiatives.
Experience driving AI enablement, digital adoption, or technology-enabled change within a business function; ability to identify practical use cases and help teams adopt new tools responsibly and effectively.
Proven ability to lead end-to-end programs across multiple stakeholders, managing scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, and outcomes in a disciplined and transparent way.
Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity, align differing priorities, and build momentum across matrixed environments.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex ideas, create clear recommendations, and communicate effectively with senior executives.
High degree of curiosity, adaptability, and learning agility, with an external perspective on emerging trends in communications, AI, and organizational effectiveness.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in financial services, professional services, consulting, technology, media, corporate affairs, or a similarly fast-paced stakeholder environment.
Familiarity with communications technology, workflow tools, content operations platforms, and AI-enabled productivity solutions.

BNY assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $130,000 and $230,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNY total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs. This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
