The City of Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services is a division of the Office of the City Clerk whose purpose is to support access to local government. We administer local, state, and federal elections for Minneapolis voters.
We are hiring for Warehouse Team Member (up to 2 positions) The City Clerk's Office is looking to fill up to two (2) temporary Warehouse Team Member (Seasonal Elections Support Specialist) positions. Elections Warehouse Staff will assist with various election activities: warehouse duties and facilitation, prepare election materials, and general warehouse & clerical duties as needed.
This is a full-time (30-50+ hours per week), temporary positions scheduled for June 8, 2026 - December 31, 2026, covering the following scheduled elections:
- August 11, 2026, State Primary Election
- November 3, 2026, General Election
Note: Anticipated starting salary range: $24.107 - $26.075/hr, depending on qualifications.
Hours may fluctuate based on operational needs. Will involve evening and weekend hours, as needed, especially in the final week(s) leading up to each Election Day.
Work Location: This position will work onsite at Minneapolis Elections & Voter Services: 980 E Hennepin Ave, Minneapolis, MN 55414.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

- Assist other warehouse staff in producing, updating, packing and tracking of all election equipment and supplies.
- Maintain and update election supplies and inventory within a database.
- Provide support during testing of voting equipment.
- Prepare and proof-read forms, brochures, manuals and other written materials.
- Clean and maintain warehouse space.
- Perform other election-related duties, as assigned, which may include assisting at other locations in Minneapolis, assisting with absentee voting activities and/or election training-related activities.
- Provide Election Day support at headquarters by answering questions related to equipment, supplies etc., starting 5am.
Working Conditions: Office & warehouse setting with some work at elections sites, entailing standing for long periods and heavy lifting.
Pursuant to Minnesota Statute *204C.06, Subd. 8, news media are granted access to polling places, and as part of the normal duties of this position, individuals may be recorded or appear in the background of media interviews or footage while performing their work; this is an inherent requirement of the position.

Required Qualifications

Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent; or currently attending high school.
- Eligible to vote in MN:
- Must be at least 18 years of age;
- Able to read, write, and speak English;
- Cannot be a candidate, or the spouse, parent, stepparent, child, stepchild, sibling or step- sibling of a candidate on the ballot;
- Cannot be domiciled, either permanently or temporarily, with any candidate on the ballot and;
- Cannot be a candidate in the election.
Minimum Experience: One year of customer service
Licenses/Certifications: Election Judge Training provided.
Selection Process The selection process will consist of one or more of the following steps: a rating of relevant education and experience 100%. It is important that your application show all the relevant education and experience you possess. This information will be used to determine which candidates will proceed in the selection process. A submitted application is also used to verify the answers to any supplemental questions. Only those candidates who attain a passing score 70% on each step in the selection process will be placed on the eligible list. The City of Minneapolis Human Resources Department reserves the right to limit the number in any phase of the selection process.
Background Check The City has determined that a criminal background check and/or qualifications check may be necessary for certain positions with this job title. Applicants may be required to sign an informed consent form allowing the City to obtain their criminal history and/or verify their qualifications in connection with the position sought. Applicants who do not sign the informed consent form will not be further considered for the position. Union Representation This position is not represented by a bargaining unit. Interview Selection The hiring authority reserves the right to determine the maximum number of candidates to interview from the established eligible list. If the hiring authority decides to interview other than by exam score order, they may select additional people to interview based on a candidate's education or experience related to the field, work history, or skills uniquely related to the operational needs of the position.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

- Excellent customer service/communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of the election process.
- Knowledge of accepted business English usage, punctuation, spelling and math.
- Knowledge of office practices, policies, and procedures as they relate to the assigned program. Proficiency on computers, to include word processing, spreadsheets, and database programs.
- Ability to make decisions in accordance with laws, regulations and established departmental policies and apply judgment in interpreting and applying procedures.
- Ability to handle customer concerns and complaints respectfully.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Ability to communicate effectively by phone, in person, and in writing.
