Responsibilities

Orrick is seeking candidates for a Career Associate with 3-5 years of healthcare regulatory experience to join our FDA and Healthcare Regulatory Practice. This is an off-track role reporting to senior attorneys and partners serving innovative healthcare, health tech and digital health stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on healthcare regulatory and transactional experience.

The Healthcare Career Associate's work will include assisting the practice's partners provide regulatory guidance across a spectrum of healthcare and privacy issues including: healthcare and artificial intelligence, telehealth, fraud and abuse (including anti-kickback and self-referral laws), the corporate practice of medicine, Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, defining scope of practice, and Sunshine Act reporting. The Healthcare Career Associate will assist in drafting and compiling state filings and will also aid clients with maintaining state and federal authorities once secured by identifying and advising on compliance obligations for regulated entities.


Qualifications

* A Juris Doctor and membership to the State Bar of the desired office.
* Three to five years of legal experience at a law firm, regulatory agency, company and/or similar entity handling healthcare regulatory matters.
* Experience reviewing and analyzing state statutes and regulations.
* General knowledge of HIPAA and FDA is helpful.
* The ability to produce thorough, efficient, and detail-oriented work product.
* Excellent communication and interactive skills at all levels and a shown ability to work with a wide variety of personality types.
* Planning and organization skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and to lead multiple projects concurrently.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
* Good writing skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $200,000 and $246,000.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
