SR IT Project Manager

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior IT Project Manager position with a Regional Financial Institution located in Columbus, OH. This is a 9- month remote contract opportunity.

Pay range: $60.00 - $78.00 per hour

We are seeking a Senior IT Project Manager to join the Technology PMO, aligned to the Cybersecurity portfolio, supporting a high-priority Information Classification Strategy Program. This role is ideal for a strong PMO-style project manager who brings structure, governance, and execution discipline to complex cybersecurity and compliance-driven initiatives. The position requires a highly detail-oriented, execution-focused leader who can manage complex workstreams, ensure precision in reporting, and confidently engage with executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Lead delivery of large-scale cybersecurity initiatives within a PMO-driven environment
• Create and manage detailed, multi-workstream Project Management Plans aligned to PMO standards
• Establish and enforce project governance, structure, and reporting discipline
• Deliver highly accurate and detailed status reporting (timelines, milestones, risks, dependencies, resource tracking)
• Partner with Cybersecurity leaders, technology teams, and compliance stakeholders to drive execution
• Prepare and present executive-level materials (PowerPoint) for senior leadership and steering committees
• Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies with proactive mitigation strategies
• Ensure alignment with internal controls, governance standards, and cybersecurity-related compliance efforts
• Utilize enterprise tools such as ServiceNow PPM and Microsoft Project for planning and tracking
• Operate primarily in a Waterfall delivery environment, with some exposure to Agile practices

Requirements:

• 7+ years of experience in IT Project Management within a PMO or structured delivery environment
• Experience supporting cybersecurity, risk, or compliance-related initiatives (not necessarily hands-on cyber)
• Strong ability to stand up and structure projects from initiation through execution
• Proven expertise in Waterfall project delivery (Agile familiarity is a plus)
• Exceptional attention to detail, particularly in status reporting and project tracking
• Experience working in highly regulated environments (financial services preferred)
• Strong executive communication skills with demonstrated executive presence
• Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and executive presentations
• Ability to manage complex initiatives with multiple stakeholders and dependencies

Desired skills:

• Experience working within a centralized IT PMO supporting technology or cybersecurity portfolios
• Familiarity with ServiceNow PPM and/or Microsoft Project
• Understanding of cybersecurity or control frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO)
• PMP or equivalent certification (nice to have, not required)
