Moog Military Aircraft Groupis hiring aMechanical Analysis Engineerwho has a passion for discovering how and why mechanical systems work, sharing the learnings with peers, and building engineering tools to accelerate work across the engineering organization.

Reporting to the Chief Engineer for Mechanical Analysis, you will have a 9/80 work schedule with a hybrid workoption(3 days/week in the office) in Torrance, CA.

In this role, you will:

• Support and lead the development of strategically important tools that have a material benefit for the organization.

• Actively seek out opportunities to improve the capability and productivity of the group through digital automation.

• Work with the Chief Engineer to implement the technology roadmap and support IR&D initiatives.

• Acquire hands on experience through work on the product lifecycle including:

  • Conceptual designand sizing of new components and assemblies.

  • Detailed analysisin coordination with design and manufacturing teams tooptimizedesigns for production while balancing technical requirements.

  • Leadinvestigationsdeterminingroot cause for anomaliesencounteredduring qualification testing.

  • Troubleshootissues and non-conformances (both piece part and assembly level)encounteredduring production.

• Create and review program deliverable documentation (i.e.stress reports), Moog internal memorandums, and production drawings.

• Up to 25% travel

To be considered for this role,here'swhatyou'llneed to bring with you:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, Physics, or Math

• 2+ years of experience designing and analyzing components

It'dbe great if you also had:

• Experience with product analysis and evaluation including finite element methods, vibration analysis, fatigue evaluation, gear analysis, and close form solutions

• Experience writing code in Python or MATLAB

• Experience building applications using MATLAB App Designer

• Familiarity with ANSYS orotherFEA tools
