ROLE OVERVIEW

Equities & FICC: We make markets in and clear client transactions on major stock, options and futures exchanges worldwide. Through our global sales force, we maintain relationships with our clients, receiving orders and distributing investment research, trading ideas, market information and analysis.

Systematic Trading Strategies ("STS") sits within the Equities & FICC division. STS / QIS focuses on designing and implementing customized investment solutions for a broad range of financial institutions - including sovereign wealth funds, pensions, insurance firms, and private banks - as well as retail distribution channels.

The STS Product Development team specializes in the design and research of systematic indices to solve complex investment challenges in the quantitative investment space across institutional clients and indirect retail distribution channels. The team's toolkit spans equity derivatives - including index and single-name options, variance swaps, and OTC instruments - as well as linear systematic strategies, alternative data, and quantitative modeling techniques.

The team is seeking a professional in Product Development to contribute to the research, development, and commercialization of systematic strategies spanning linear and non-linear products for institutional clients and indirect retail distribution channels. This role requires quantitative expertise, hands-on experience with alternative data and machine learning, practical coding skills, and the ability to collaborate with sales, trading, quantitative strategists, and legal teams. The successful candidate will help accelerate the growth of the business by participating in the execution of the strategic business plan from both a product development and trade execution perspective - balancing strong technical capabilities with commercial acumen.

RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Research and develop new systematic trading strategy ideas across linear and non-linear strategies, leveraging derivatives, alternative data, and machine learning techniques.
  • Collaborate with sales and clients to design customized investment solutions across institutional and retail distribution channels.
  • Implement strategies in coordination with trading, quantitative strats, and legal teams to ensure accurate and efficient execution.
  • Work on trade execution, initially of vanilla transactions, growing into more complex structures as expertise is developed.
  • Prepare marketing content and presentation materials; engage with sales and clients to demonstrate capabilities and originate new business.
  • Document and maintain systematic strategies and indices for investors.

  • Build tools (e.g., Python) to support research workflows, business metrics, and platform efficiency.




BASIC QUALIFICATIONS



  • Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in a quantitative field (e.g., applied/financial mathematics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or machine learning).
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in quantitative investments, structuring, or trading, preferably with a focus on QIS / systematic strategies.
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience with alternative data and machine learning / statistical learning methods applied to investment problems.
  • Proficiency in Python; experience with additional languages (e.g., C++, R) is a plus.

  • Strong understanding of market structure and behavior, with motivation to translate research into commercial impact and high standards for work quality.




PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS



  • Prior experience in a QIS or systematic trading strategies role at a sell-side or buy-side institution.
  • Experience working across institutional and retail product distribution, including familiarity with FIA and other retail channels.
  • Familiarity with equity volatility products (variance swaps, dispersion, gamma, skew, and carry strategies).
  • Track record of developing strategies that have been commercialized and traded.
  • Ability to work across functions - sales, trading, quant strats, legal - to bring a product from concept to execution.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; organized with strong attention to detail.


Salary Range

The expected base salary for this New York, New York, United States-based position is $150000-$300000. In addition, you may be eligible for a discretionary bonus if you are an active employee as of fiscal year-end.
