The Town of Manchester, VT is accepting applications for the following position. Director of Public Works T The Town of Manchester is seeking anexperienced leader to serve as the Director of Public Works. Reporting to the Town Manager, the Director oversees the Highway and Facilities Departments, including the maintenance, repair, operation, and capital improvements of town-owned roads, bridges, highways, rights-of-way, buildings, grounds, and parks. The successful candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, fiscal discipline, and excellent supervisory leadership skills. Requirements include over five years of progressive experience in road and sidewalk maintenance (including snow and ice removal), with at least three years in a supervisory role, preferably within the public sector. A valid CDL (class B minimum) and the ability to operate heavy machinery, trucks, and snow plows are required. A high school diploma is required, though an associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. This is a full-time, year-round position with excellent benefits including medical, dental, life insurance, short-term disability, vacation time, and a substantial 401 (a) contribution. Pay range is commensurate with experience, salary range $90,000- $125,000. 97% employer contribution to health insurance premiums with an optional FSA for additional pre-tax savings on healthcare costs. 100% employer-paid dental insurance 6% automatic employer contribution to a 401(a) retirement account, plus the option to contribute to a 457(b) account.
