What to Expect
The Sr. Architect will work on multiple projects and facilities in the Bay Area sites, as the responsible design professional on all things Architectural related. The ideal candidate is well versed in the Building code, good understanding on technical detailing and has a good grasp of other disciplines (MEP, Structural). In additional to regulatory knowledge, the candidate must have a first principal mindset, sense of ownership and the ability to adapt to a fast past working environment. The candidate should be able to frame the problem and explain to stakeholders in a way that does not require them to have infrastructure background while bringing to the table a potential solution. As part of the Fremont EPC group, this team is focused on designing, collaborating, and building the first home of Optimus while continuing to support critical vehicle programs.

What You'll Do
  • Support the design and construction of expansions and renovations to existing industrial, manufacturing, and office facilities in our Fremont facilities
  • Responsible for developing permit packages for permitting and construction
  • Prepare design diagrams, drawings, plans, sections, details, and schedules. Create or update as-built and design drawings by performing site visits and field measurements and utilize and improve design standards
  • Coordinate with multidiscipline project teams including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Piping/Plumbing under the guidance of Architectural lead
  • Act as the responsible design professional and taking ownership on Architectural requirements for each assigned projects
  • Work with various manufacturing, construction, and facilities stakeholders to understand end user needs and deliver results that meet the collective team needs
  • Mentor junior staff on design requirements and best practices

What You'll Bring
  • Degree in Architecture, Interior Design or equivalent experience, minimum 7 years of experience
  • Architectural license in the state of California (or the ability to be licensed in California within a reasonable time from start)
  • Advanced proficiency in Revit. Ability to complete detailed models, coordinate disciplines, create schedules and details, and create families in Revit
  • Strong understanding of building codes, regulations, construction documentation, detailing, and various project delivery methods. Experience with talking to the local AHJ and/or state agencies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, engineers, contractors, and stakeholders while managing conflict
  • Experience in construction administration, ensuring quality control, problem-solving, and design solutions through all phases of a project
  • Enjoy diving into technical and spatial problems and learn about manufacturing and construction while doing so

    Expected Compensation
    $140,000 - $210,000/annual salary + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
