What to Expect

Tesla is looking for an experienced Carpenter Foreman to join our self-perform constructionteam. This role requires some specific skills and requires the talent to lead our CSA Self-Perform teams to successful jobs and outcomes. Specific skills required are the ability to articulate and lead design and engineering professionals from conceptual sketches to constructible details and eventually to work put into place. We seek individuals who are passionate about construction and who are eager to tackle complex challenges, who are committed to teamwork, and who are passionate about working hard and getting things done.


What You'll Do
  • Read and understand drawings and specifications, and contribute to creating as-built drawings
  • Lead a team of carpenters to complete high end tenant improvement projects
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge and ability to lead and manage job site safety, with the ability to evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning, focusing on hazard identification
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, interact effectively with all levels of management, show initiative, and work independently or collaboratively as needed
  • Lead construction projects and communicate schedule estimates, progress, and impacts
  • Create as-built drawings for completed work
  • Ability to produce parts lists and work plans based on drawings or field observations

What You'll Bring
  • Minimum of 5+ years of verifiable experience as a Carpenter Foreman (applicants with less than 5 years will be assessed for experience level and considered)
  • Key Requirements: strong demonstrable Client-facing experience, proven ability to collaborate with design teams, High-End TI (tenant improvement) background, experience in high-end retail is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate and coordinate with design teams
  • Proven ability to lead construction teams to successful outcomes
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions and to create as-built drawings for completed work
  • Flexibility to complete job scopes outside of typical core competencies as required and willingness to travel to various project locations as required
  • Experience operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, forklifts and experience with hand power tools and ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions

    Expected Compensation
    $44.80 - $60.70/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits

    Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
