  1. Applicants applying to this position must be a rising junior or senior working on a bachelor's degree in an engineering field (preferably Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Engineering), or a master's student in an engineering discipline.
  2. Ability to commute to the plant location (Los Alamitos, CA).
  3. Eligible to meet plant EAR/ITAR Compliance requirements (see below)



Job Summary




The Materials and Process Engineer Intern will assist in product design, process development, and analysis under the supervision of the Materials and Process engineering team. This internship provides hands-on experience in engineering tasks related to our products, supporting ongoing projects and gaining valuable industry knowledge. The candidate must be a rising junior or senior currently working toward a bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and able to work at least 20 hours per week or full-time during the summer.




Essential Duties and Responsibilities





  • Assist with technical writing, documents review, for material processes and processes.
  • Support the collection, organization, and analysis of process and test data from metallurgical laboratories and manufacturing operations.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects related to materials or process development, process validation, and quality initiatives.
  • Assist in conducting testing, analysis, and validation of materials to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Support project documentation by recording activities, updating milestones, and preparing reports to communicate progress effectively.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to support project goals and meet deadlines.
  • Perform basic research and data analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies.
  • Contribute to troubleshooting process-related issues and recommend potential solutions based on data and observations.
  • Maintain and organize technical documentation, process records, and laboratory data for easy access and review.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall objectives of the Materials & Process team.




Education and Experience (must meet one of the criteria's below)





  • Currently working toward a bachelor's degree in mechanical, Chemical, Materials, Aerospace, or related engineering discipline.
  • Rising junior or senior (must be enrolled at least through the summer).
  • Ability to commute to the Los Alamitos, Ca plant location.
  • Must be able to work at least 20 hours/week or full-time during the summer.

Special Requirements





  • Eligible to meet plant EAR/ITAR compliance requirements.
  • Ability to work at least 20 hours/week during the academic year or 40 hours/week during summer.
