NTS is hiring an ACCESS CONTROL TECHNICIAN Description:
- Prior low voltage cabling experience of 5 - 7 years
- Prior experience installing, terminating, and testing structured cabling (Cat X) and low-voltage devices utilizing project manuals and blueprints
- Familiarity with BICSI, EIA, TIA, or NEC Standards
- Experience running or bending conduit, with digital multi-meters, and testing cable
- Access Controls (installation experience, preferred KISI brand)
- Rack and stack work, closet work, putting together server racks, patch panels
- Ability to read and understand schematic and line diagrams
- Responsible for full-time maintenance of access control, CCTV and intrusion detection systems and perform installation and necessary maintenance activities and repair installations.
- Additional on-call hours may be required for Emergency Response to system failures.
- Provide technical support to sales and customers as needed; troubleshoots system operations.
- Respond to service calls, as required, during normal business hours, weekends, and after hours as scheduled.
- Assess and react to new developments or unexpected problems in the field with as little production loss as possible.
- Accurately analyze problems or anticipate problem areas.
- Responsible for maintaining flow of field documentation, including change orders, head-end configuration, system drawings and diagrams, shop drawings, and as-built information.
- Assists and advise on the preparation of "Operation and Maintenance" manuals as necessary.
- Must follow testing procedures during installation and set up through completion of system installation.
- Maintain technical and quality bridge between internal departments and contract client, while notifying management of possible cost savings or costs incurred.
- Maintain safety program while in the field.
- The Security Technician shall perform any other duties as assigned from time to time in support of operational necessity.

- Someone who is / has:
- adherent to customer, company, industry (TIA/EIA, ANSI, BICSI), and Safety standards
- high school diploma or GED
- current valid driver's license that is automotive insurable
- comfortable with traveling around Virginia, USA
- able to pass a background check, driving record check, and drug screening per company standards
- knows how to utilize the software on a computer including email, a word processor, and the web to send deliverables and communications
- able to learn and utilize cabling deployment planning application/tools/documentation.
