Assistant District Materials Manager (Civil Engineer Supervisor)

As an Assistant District Materials Manager, you will assist the District Materials Manager with reviewing asphalt mix designs, cement concrete mix designs, latex modified concrete mix designs, and field and plant quality control plans. You will also have the opportunity to attend and contribute to deck preplacement meetings, asphalt preplacement meetings, and micro surface preplacement meetings. In addition, you will oversee the inspection of cement concrete and latex modified concrete used in bridge construction and bridge preservation projects. You will be tasked with reviewing and approving material sources for all materials used in bridge construction and bridge preservation projects to ensure product quality and compliance with specification requirements.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• You will work closely with vendors and work hours may change based on vendor availability.
• Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, ad-hoc as approved, upon successful completion of the probationary period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Montoursville. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. • Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $69,203.00 (before taxes).

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• Five years of civil engineering experience and an Engineer-In-Training certificate issued by or acceptable to the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors and Geologists; or
• One year of civil engineering experience in highway design, construction or maintenance related projects and a bachelor's degree with major course work in civil engineering.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid driver's license.

Other Requirements:

• PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
• You must be able to perform essential job functions.
