THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports schools and agencies by providing guidance, training, and monitoring for federal education programs. The role helps ensure that programs follow state and federal requirements and support student learning. As a Basic Education Associate 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • Technical Assistance: Provide guidance to school districts, intermediate units, charter schools, and nonpublic schools on Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requirements
  • Program Management: Oversee Title I, Part D activities and update guidance and resources based on regulation changes
  • Committee Leadership: Lead planning efforts for the annual Neglected and Delinquent Symposium and support committee activities
  • Monitoring Duties: Conduct annual reviews for Neglected and Delinquent institutions
  • Training Delivery: Develop and present training sessions for state and national conferences and workshops
  • Application Review: Review and approve grant applications, amendments, waivers, and audit responses

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 4 days per week. You will be required to report in-office on Tuesday each week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Four years of professional experience in the field of education; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience.
