Youth Treatment Team Assistant Supervisor

The Washington County Human Service Department, located in West Bend, Wisconsin, has an excellent opportunity as a full-time Youth Treatment Team Assistant Supervisor. The Washington County Human Services Department offers responsive and effective community programs to individuals and families challenged by disability, economic hardship, and safety concerns. Under the general direction of the Youth Treatment Team Supervisor, the Assistant Supervisor is responsible for supervision of 3-4 Family Centered Treatment (FCT) staff and management of the FCT program, contract management of Youth Comprehensive Community Services (CCS) programming, and assisting with the general operations of the Youth Treatment Team.
Qualified candidates must possess:
*Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or psychology
*Current State of Wisconsin Clinical License in either social work or counseling (or ability to become licensed within 6-months of employment)
*A minimum of three years of professional work experience preferably working with children with mental health challenges and their families
*Experience with Comprehensive Community Services and/or Family Centered Treatment
*Previous supervisory experience is desired
*A valid Wisconsin driver's license is required

Position Summary:
Under the general direction of the Youth Treatment Team Supervisor, the Youth Treatment Team Assistant Supervisor provides direct supervision to 3-4 Family Centered Treatment staff, manages the FCT program, assists with contract management and clinical support of the Youth Comprehensive Community Services program, and assists with general operations of the Youth Treatment Team.

Duties/Responsibilities:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
*Directly supervise 3-4 FCT staff and provide ongoing support to staff.
*Assists with completing initial screens and determining eligibility for new referrals. Assign cases and provide support/follow up for cases.
*Follows all established timelines for processing, screening, and assigning new referrals.
*Assists in tracking caseload size and client transitions/discharges from program to make recommendations about program growth and staffing needs.
*Completes FCT supervisor training/check offs within the first year of employment and follow all FCT program requirements.
*Serves as a clinical resource person.
*Provides support to Youth Comprehensive Community Services team and assist with contract management of Youth CCS programming.
*Assists with managing Coordinated Support Team and identify appropriate referrals for programming.
*Participates in and models case conceptualization skills in staffings by providing feedback to staff regarding clinical assessments, treatment planning, and purposeful interventions.
*Performs community liaison work and provides training and outreach to community partners.
*Performs contract management functions of external Comprehensive Community Services providers including oversight of billing and payment approval.
*Maintains a limited caseload as needed - providing psychotherapy or case management.
*Insures appropriate medical record documentation, which includes completing psychosocial histories, treatment plans, and progress notes.
*Performs internal audits to ensure program and staff compliance with DHS 36, 46.56, and Family Centered Treatment.
*Undertakes preventative activities such as community education and consultation through public speaking and coordinated agency planning.
*Participates in staff development, student affiliations, and research projects, as appropriate.
*Communicates pertinent information on a timely basis to appropriate staff.
*Performs other duties as assigned, including responding to an emergency event.

Work Direction Received:
Works under the general direction of the Youth Treatment Team Supervisor.

Supervision Exercised:
Provides direct supervision 3-4 FCT staff and provides clinical supervision as needed to CCS staff.

Decision Making:
Decisions concerning referrals, therapeutic interventions, treatment planning, and other daily activities are made independently. Decisions concerning program initiatives and daily administration of the Youth Treatment Team program are made under the supervision of the Youth Treatment Team Supervisor.

Interaction:
There is significant interaction with various provider agencies, community organizations, other County Departments, clients, families, guardians, and the general public.

Essential Knowledge and Abilities:
Knowledge of appropriate therapeutic techniques; policies and procedures of the agency; applicable State, Federal, and County laws, rules, and regulations; and various community resources. Ability to provide support and clinical supervision to staff working within the Comprehensive Community Services, Coordinated Services Team, and Family Centered Treatment. Ability to make accurate assessments, help patients in appropriate treatment, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and interact effectively with other health professionals, patients and their families, and the general public. Able to fulfill physical demands of job, sensory demands (seeing and hearing), and cognitive demands (concentration, conceptualization, memorization).

Training and Experience:
A Master's Degree in social work, counseling, or psychology and current State of Wisconsin Clinical License in either social work or counseling (or ability to become licensed within 6-months of employment). A minimum of three years of professional work experience preferably working with children with disabilities and their families in community programs. Experience with Comprehensive Community Services or Family Centered Treatment is preferred. Previous supervisory experience is desired. A valid Wisconsin driver's license is required.
