Overview
The Geospatial Production Team Lead will support the day-to-day execution of mobile LiDAR and imagery-based asset inventory production workflows. This role will lead a team of production operators responsible for reviewing imagery, interacting with geospatial tools, supporting asset extraction workflows, validating outputs, and ensuring work is completed accurately and consistently. This position is intended to be a hands-on leadership role focused on team coordination, quality oversight, tool execution, workflow adherence, and performance management. The Team Lead may be responsible for running production tools, reviewing outputs, supporting operators, troubleshooting workflow issues, and helping ensure that production targets are met. The ideal candidate has experience in GIS, transportation asset inventory, geospatial production workflows, and team leadership. Experience with prompt engineering, AI-assisted workflows, or automation-supported production processes is strongly preferred. Work Environment:

Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day activities of a geospatial production team supporting mobile LiDAR, imagery, and transportation asset inventory workflows
- Coordinate daily production assignments, priorities, operator questions, and workflow execution
- Support operators in understanding asset definitions, attribution rules, GIS requirements, project specifications, and quality expectations
- Run production tools, validation tools, GIS applications, AI-assisted workflows, or other technical systems needed to support production delivery
- Review production outputs for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and adherence to documented standards
- Monitor production performance, including throughput, productivity, quality, rework, backlog, and schedule progress
- Conduct regular coaching, feedback, and performance review discussions with assigned team members
- Identify operator training needs and support onboarding, retraining, and ongoing skill development
- Serve as the first point of contact for operator questions, production blockers, workflow clarification, and quality issues
- Escalate complex technical, quality, schedule, staffing, or client requirement issues to Elizabeth Dreimiller or the appropriate project stakeholder
- Reinforce standard operating procedures and ensure team members consistently follow approved workflows
- Support the development and maintenance of production documentation, training guides, checklists, workflow notes, and quality standards
- Use production metrics and dashboard information to identify risks, bottlenecks, performance regressions, and improvement opportunities
- Help identify recurring quality issues and recommend practical improvements to reduce rework and improve consistency
- Support the use of prompt engineering, AI-assisted tools, automation, or structured review methods to improve production efficiency and quality
- Coordinate with project managers, subject matter experts, QA/QC staff, GIS specialists, and technical leads to resolve production issues
- Foster a team culture focused on accountability, quality, consistency, continuous improvement, and clear communication
Qualifications
- 4-7 years of experience in geospatial production, GIS operations, transportation asset inventory, data annotation, mapping, or a related technical production environment
- 2+ years of experience leading, mentoring, training, or directly managing production team members
- Experience conducting performance feedback, coaching conversations, and formal performance reviews
- Strong working knowledge of GIS concepts, spatial data, mapping workflows, and geospatial quality control
- Experience with transportation-related data, roadway assets, mobile mapping, LiDAR, imagery, or infrastructure inventory preferred
- Experience operating technical tools, production applications, GIS software, or AI-assisted workflows
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI tools, or structured prompting to support data review, automation, documentation, or production workflows
- Experience reviewing production outputs for accuracy, completeness, consistency, and adherence to project standards
- Ability to monitor throughput, quality, productivity, backlog status, and production progress
- Strong attention to detail and ability to enforce documented standards, specifications, and procedures
- Ability to identify production issues, document findings, recommend improvements, and escalate risks appropriately
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to provide clear direction and actionable feedback to operators
- Experience creating or maintaining standard operating procedures, checklists, training materials, or workflow documentation
- Familiarity with Esri products such as ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and/or ArcGIS Enterprise Portal preferred
- Experience with operational dashboards, spreadsheets, SQL, Power BI, or other production tracking tools preferred
- Experience working with distributed, remote, offshore, or vendor-supported production teams preferred
