What to Expect
The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive background in electrical construction commissioning with a strong emphasis on electrical acceptance testing & turnover acceptance at Gigafactory Texas. This individual will be responsible for ensuring the successful transition of electrical systems from construction to operational status, ensuring assets meet safety, performance, and Tesla Specifications.
What You'll Do
- Plan and coordinate medium voltage energization activities, including vendor meetings, equipment inspections, documentation reviews, and switching procedures
- Evaluate protective settings and system parameters to ensure proper functionality and protection
- Collaborate with operations, construction, engineering, QA, and facilities teams to support commissioning activities and resolve electrical issues
- Provide technical guidance and share lessons learned with construction and design teams regarding modeling and utility routing
- Lead commissioning and startup of all electrical systems from medium voltage (up to 25kV) to low voltage, including coordination with 3rd party vendors and manufacturers.
- Perform system handover walks, track and close open issues, and ensure completeturnover of documentation to operations and maintenance teams
- Troubleshoot VFDs, switchgear, and motors (120V-25kV) and work from heights using lifts
- Interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to plan, install, troubleshoot, and modify electrical systems
What You'll Bring
- Must have a minimum of 5+ years related work experience as an Industrial or Commercial Electrician, experience in data center or critical infrastructure maintenance is preferred but not required
- Knowledge in using hand tools, electrical meters, and testing equipment specific to data center applications
- Proficiency in sizing conductors, conduits, and using the NEC Code Book for electrical work within a data center
- Experience with electrical systems spanning from 24VDC to 120/277-480/4160/25kV AC, with a strong background in troubleshooting motor controls, drives, and electronic components in data centers.
- Ability to install electrical equipment and perform circuit modifications within a data center environment,interpret electrical prints and schematics, ensuring proper installation and modification of electrical systems
- Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must demonstrate a high degree of initiative, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively

Essential Physical Demands
- Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain
- Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
- Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours a day
- Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
- Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
- Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses, safety shoes, reflective vest, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines
