The Opportunity

We're seeking a Pediatric Neuropsychologist to join our growing Neuropsychology & Psychology program. This is an exciting chance to shape the future of pediatric neuropsych care within a thriving interdisciplinary team.

You will provide neuropsychological evaluations and interventions for children with medically related neurocognitive and behavioral concerns in outpatient settings and participate in a number of multidisciplinary medical clinics. You'll collaborate closely with pediatric specialists, families, and care teams to support accurate diagnosis, treatment plans, and patient-centered care.

Position Summary

The Neuropsychologist is responsible for providing direct clinical neuropsychological services to children and families with medically related neurocognitive concerns in an outpatient setting. The incumbent provides clinical support services for pediatric medical programs across the system. Responsibilities include conducting age-appropriate evaluations, including clinical interviews, testing, feedback, and report creation, and providing consultation for patients seen by multidisciplinary medical teams.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts clinical interviews with patients and families from a variety of backgrounds with complex medical and neurological needs.
  • Supervises a psychometrist who administers and scores neuropsychological testing measures.
  • Interprets and summarizes neuropsychological test results in a succinct and approachable manner.
  • Utilizes test results and other sources of clinical information to provide psychological and neurodevelopmental diagnoses, when applicable.
  • Creates tailored recommendations that are appropriate for each patient and family based on presenting concerns and test outcomes.
  • Completes clinical documentation in Epic in a timely manner.
  • Clearly explains assessment results to families (and medical teams, when requested).
  • Provides consultation and brief screening of cognitive skills for patients during multidisciplinary medical clinics. Specific clinics will likely include the Cancer Center's Long-term Follow-up Clinic
  • Conducts testing (as needed) to support research through the Cancer Center (Children's Oncology Group protocols)
  • Collaborates effectively with other team members to optimize patient care and outcomes.
  • Represents neuropsychology in hospital meetings that benefit from input about neurocognitive functioning, such as the Trauma Committee
  • Completes clinical documents in Epic in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintains license and appropriate continuing education.
  • Adheres to MHS Attendance and Punctuality Policy and Procedure standards, and maintains reliable attendance

Requirements

  • Ph.D. or Psy.D. from an APA accredited clinical psychology training program
  • An APA accredited, preferably hospital-based, internship
  • Completion of two years of formal postdoctoral specialty training in clinical neuropsychology with substantial background in pediatric neuropsychology and/or medical psychology
  • Washington State Licensure as a psychologist, or immediate eligibility for licensure required
  • Eligibility for, or completion of, board certification in clinical neuropsychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology preferred
  • BLS Certification

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $147,800.00 - $177,000.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant's years of experience align.
