The Transplant Float Pharmacist in the UCSD Health Transplant Program is responsible for helping to maintain clinical pharmacy service coverage for existing transplant pharmacists who are out on vacation, sick, or other types of leave. When covering for other transplant pharmacists, the Transplant Float Pharmacist will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and facilitating medication optimization for patients in abdominal (kidney, liver) or cardiothoracic (heart, lung, LVAD) transplant, in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. This position will dedicate at least 20 hours/week to support the UCSD Health Transplant Program, although may flex up to 40 hours/week depending on service needs. Specific roles of the Transplant Float Pharmacist may include but are not limited to:
The Pharmacist will also be responsible for provision and documentation of medications and medication-related services to patients according to the standards established by the UCSD Health Department of Pharmacy, as applicable. The Pharmacist may serve as preceptor to pharmacy students and residents as assigned. The incumbent may also participate in Medical Center and Departmental committees and promote institution-wide medication use policy. Other activities may be assigned at the discretion of managers and supervisors. Depending on experience of the selected candidate, this position will be hired at the Pharmacist I or Pharmacist II level. Less than four (4) years experience qualifies as Pharmacist I; Four (4) + years of experience qualifies as Pharmacist II.
Pay Transparency Act Annual Full Pay Range: $183,138 - $186,834 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%) Hourly Equivalent: $87.71 - $89.48 Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable). | |
