THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is looking for an enthusiastic Outreach Coordinator who is eager to help people learn about wildlife and conservation. This role gives you the chance to connect communities with the outdoors and inspire interest in hunting and habitat protection. The Outreach Coordinator supports the Pennsylvania Game Commission's mission to manage and protect wildlife and their habitats while promoting hunting and trapping by planning, delivering, and evaluating outreach that builds public understanding, trust, and participation. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports statewide outreach that helps communities understand and engage with the mission of the Pennsylvania Game Commission. It strengthens public connections through events, education, and partnerships; working closely with regional education staff in all six PGC Regions to advise and support regional outreach events. As an Outreach Coordinator, you will perform the following duties:

  • Event Coordination: Plan and organize major outreach events and assist with logistics such as venues, materials, and permits
  • Community Engagement: Represent the agency at public events and provide accurate information to visitors and partners
  • Partnership Support: Maintain working relationships with schools and community groups and help guide regional outreach practices
  • Program Delivery: Present educational programs that support conservation goals and align with agency messaging
  • Digital Outreach: Assist with creating audience friendly digital content and coordinate with communications staff on key campaigns
  • Reporting and Improvement: Collect feedback, review basic metrics, and recommend ways to strengthen outreach activities

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment.
  • Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 45-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. Telework is not permitted during the initial six-month probationary period; eligibility may be granted upon its successful completion. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Two years of professional experience in the development and implementation of conservation education programs; and a bachelor's degree with course work in wildlife management, journalism, communications, or a closely related field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

Preferred Qualifications (not required):

  • Possess a current Class C driver's license which is not under suspension.

Legal Requirements:

  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
