The Endoscopy Registered Nurse - Admit, Recovery, Discharge (ARD) is responsible for delivering highquality nursing care to patients throughout the admission, procedural, and recovery phases of endoscopic procedures. This role ensures patient safety, comfort, and positive clinical experience. Job Relationships

Principal Responsibilities
- Greet patients and assist with changing into appropriate attire.
- Complete comprehensive preoperative assessments and document findings accurately.
- Administer preoperative orders including medications and IV therapy.
- Provide preoperative education to patients and their families or support persons.
- Collaborate with members of the healthcare team regarding patient status and needs.
- Assess, monitor, and support patients throughout recovery.
- Administer ordered medications and treatments.
- Complete all applicable recovery documentation and records.
- Prepare patients for discharge and provide homecare instructions and education materials.
- Discharge patients to a responsible adult as ordered by the proceduralist, in accordance with established guidelines.
- Crosstrain and assist in additional clinical areas as needed to meet patient and operational needs.
- Provide orientation and training to new department staff.
- Collaborate with physicians and care teams to optimize patient outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility environment.
- Ensure patient comfort and safety, including monitoring vital signs and administering medications as ordered.
- Document patient information, procedure logs, and required forms accurately and promptly.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and adhere to Infection Control, OSHA, and organizational standards.
- Respond effectively to emergencies and assist with critical interventions.
- Use Springfield Clinic computers, phones, and multiple software systems appropriately and proficiently.
- Restock clinical supplies daily and maintain daily/weekly/monthly electronic logs.
- Perform daily checks on crash carts, defibrillators, and medications, ensuring all equipment is functional.
- Complete preprocedure and postprocedure patient phone calls as needed.
- Comply with incident reporting policies and uphold Springfield Clinic's Code of Conduct and Ethics Standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Three to five (3-5) years of nursing experience preferred.
Licenses/Certificates
- Licensure as an RN in the State of Illinois.
- ACLS certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 90 days of employment.
- CPR certification per American Heart Association guidelines required within 30 days of hire.

- Conditions include exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue and contagious diseases and/or potentially hazardous materials.
