Job Summary

This individual will be required to lead or coordinate project planning, resourcing, staffing, progress reporting, people management and troubleshooting for engineering projects. Ensure project results meet requirements regarding technical quality, reliability, schedule and cost.

Essential Functions

  • Manages the organization's portfolio of engineering projects through a team of Engineering Project Managers.
  • Develops and implements project management practices, processes, methodologies, and metrics.
  • Oversees engineering projects, identifies expected outcomes, establishes timelines, and assigns project staff.
  • Reviews reports detailing project status and presents updates to project stakeholders.
  • Ensures projects are completed on time, within established quality standards, and in compliance with design specifications.
  • Leads and directs the work of other employees and has responsibility for personnel actions including hiring, performance management, and termination with concurrence from HR & General Managers.



Required Qualifications

  • Required education and experience: Associate's Degree and 7-8 years' experience OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education &/or Experience
  • Critical professional related technical skills; computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)


Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred education and experience: Bachelor's Degree
  • Knowledge, skills & abilities: Leadership Skills. Engineering Project Management. Project Management. Oral and Written Communication Skills.
  • Analytical thinking. Design review. Project engineering. Resource planning. Technical project management. Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) software. Project management software.
  • Manage all technical aspects of multiyear ordnance production program(s)
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a multidisciplinary engineering team, including project engineers, test engineers, and other technical staff, ensuring effective collaboration and achieving project goals.
  • Demonstrated experience in supervising diverse engineering teams, with a focus on managing performance, fostering professional development, and maintaining alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Work collaboratively in an IPT with other functions and customer representatives
  • Serve as primary technical interface for customers and suppliers, working closely with technical counterparts
  • Support risk management activities
  • Strong understanding of ordnance production and testing
  • Have an understanding of test systems (digital data acquisition test systems)
  • Proficient in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing IAW ASME Y14.5
  • Broad experience in manufacturing technology for aerospace and defense products
  • Strong technical writing and analytical skills including statistical analysis.


Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods of time.
  • Work primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential.


Travel Requirements

Up to 25% travel likely.
