Position Summary:
The Sales Operations Manager is a key individual contributor responsible for supporting the efficiency and effectiveness of the sales organization. This role partners closely with sales, finance, marketing, and supply chain teams to drive reporting, process improvement, customer satisfaction, and profitability. The ideal candidate combines analytical expertise with strong cross-functional communication skills to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Essential Job Duties and Requirements:

  1. Strategic Planning and Leadership:
    • Develop and implement administrative processes to support the sales team.
    • Lead direct reports, providing direction, coaching, and development opportunities.
  2. Sales Process Optimization:
    • Assist with analyzing and refiing the sales process to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Help to implement and manage sales tools and technologies to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
    • Help to create alignment between sales processes and overall business objectives.
  3. Accounts Receivable and Dispute Management:
    • Oversee the inside sales accounts receivable process, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and collections.
    • Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on overdue accounts.
    • Manage and resolve customer disputes related to sales transactions, working closely with the sales and finance teams to address issues promptly.
  4. Inventory Management:
    • Coordinate with the inventory management team to ensure accurate tracking and reporting of inventory levels.
    • Monitor inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability and prevent overstock or stockouts.
    • Collaborate with sales and supply chain teams to forecast inventory needs based on sales trends and projections.
  5. Sales Analytics and Reporting:
    • Develop and maintain sales operations performance metrics and dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Conduct regular analysis of sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  6. Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Work closely with sales, marketing, finance, inventory, product, and accounts receivable teams to ensure alignment and support for sales and operations initiatives.
    • Coordinate with the IT department to manage and optimize sales and operations technology stack.
  7. Compliance and Risk Management:
    • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to sales operations.
    • Identify and mitigate risks associated with sales operations and processes

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in sales operations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in sales operations, process optimization, and sales performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in sales technology and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with BI/reporting tools preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to present data and findings to leadership clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines consistently.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills; comfortable working across sales, finance, supply chain, and IT teams.
  • Customer-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence and contract compliance.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • The work environment may not be temperature controlled; must have the ability to work in extreme hot or cold environments; must be able to work in dusty environments.
  • Long periods working on a computer and performing repetitive keyboarding activities.

  • May be required to handle hazardous materials and wear various forms of protective equipment (shoes, gloves, protective eyewear, etc.).
  • May be required to drive a forklift and/or operate other standard warehouse equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • May be required to pass forklift and/or other warehouse equipment certifications (written and/or driving).
  • Must be able to handle and work physical inventory; required to lift up to 25 lbs or greater with assistance following standard operating and safety procedures. Other physical requirements including, regularly being required to stand, walk, kneel, bend, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance.
  • Close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required.
