MedStar Georgetown University Hospital's Division of Hematology Oncology is seeking a qualified Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our well-established Bone Marrow Transplant Cell-Therapy program at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.

Our program is the region's only adult, Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT)-accredited program for autologous transplant, allogeneic transplant, and cellular immunotherapy. We give patients with cancers affecting the blood or immune system and other disorders access to life-saving treatment options not otherwise available in our region.

This position is full-time (1.0FTE) and offers you the opportunity to practice in outpatient bone marrow transplant/cell therapy with rotating inpatient shifts

Key Responsibilities:

The NP in this role will be responsible for writing follow-up/subsequent chemotherapy orders, performing bone marrow biopsies and providing basic support to allogeneic, autologous, CAR T-cell patients. The ideal candidate will have a chemotherapy card and experience working in malignant hematology and/or cell therapy practices. New graduates will be considered if they have a strong desire to work in the cutting-edge field of stem cell transplant and cellular immunotherapy. Interested candidates will also have thorough documentation skills, great work ethic and be able to work autonomously while being connected regularly with administrative and physician support.

  • Work schedule is Monday - Friday 4 10-hour shifts. No weekends but opportuny for weekend OT shifts
  • Work independently to coordinate and deliver comprehensive patient care in the outpatient setting
  • Respond to nursing care needs, and provide basic support to the stem cell transplant and cellular immunotherapy program
  • Work with a specialized group of malignant hematologists and bone marrow transplant physicians

Qualifications:

  • Completion and graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
  • CPR certification required
  • Previous experience in malignant hematology and/or cell therapy practices preferred
  • Eligible for Maryland and DC licenses
