Salary range:
The salary range for this position is $511,000 - $780,000. This position includes membership in the Health Sciences Compensation Plan. Application Window Open date: July 15, 2026 Next review date: Saturday, Aug 15, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Dec 31, 2026 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine invites applications for an accomplished academic orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon to help build one of the nation's premier integrated academic Sports Medicine programs. This recruitment is open at all ranks in the Clinical X series and aligned with the University of California Academic Senate. UC Davis Health is making a major institutional investment in Sports Medicine to create a comprehensive program that integrates orthopaedic surgery, physical medicine and rehabilitation, musculoskeletal imaging, rehabilitation, athletic performance, research, and community outreach within a growing Musculoskeletal Service Line. This investment reflects UC Davis Health's commitment to expanding access, advancing innovation, and delivering exceptional musculoskeletal care across Northern California. Based on qualifications and departmental needs, the successful candidate may be eligible to apply for the Chief of the Orthopaedic Sports Medicine Service and/or Co-Director of the UC Davis Health Sports Medicine Clinics. Working alongside nationally recognized colleagues across UC Davis Health, the successful candidate will help advance innovative clinical programs, educate trainees at all levels, pursue meaningful clinical and translational research, and care for athletes across the spectrum-from youth and recreational athletes to collegiate athletes at UC Davis and professional athletes with Sacramento Republic FC. This position is ideally suited for someone excited to shape the future of Sports Medicine at UC Davis Health by helping build one of the nation's premier integrated academic sports medicine programs within one of the nation's leading orthopaedic departments.
