The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) seeks a dynamic, student-centered, and forward-thinking Associate Director for Student Government, Student Engagement & Student Union to provide visionary leadership.

The Associate Director manages a unit that supports and develops student government leaders, programs, and services that contribute to a vibrant campus life. This position will provide day-to-day advisement for the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the Student Government Association (SGA) along with the divisions of the SGA. Through a combination of advising, training, and experiential learning, students will be supported to develop leadership skills to provide an effective voice for students in campus life and to build and maintain strong, effective organizations. The Associate Director supervises the SGA Services Manager, reports to the Executive Director, and is part of a collaborative team of professionals supporting student engagement across a wide range of areas that also include campus activities, orientation, fraternity & sorority life, and student organizations.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree in Student Affairs, Counseling, Higher Ed Administration or related field preferred.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of full-time experience in higher ed student affairs is required.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the areas of student development, program coordination, student leader advisement, and effective leadership programming.
  • Knowledge of issues, trends, policies and best practices relevant to student government.
  • Ability to work evening and weekend hours
