Donor Relations Assistant (Part-Time)
Help Strengthen Our Community Through Philanthropy

The YMCA of the North Shore is seeking a detail-oriented and enthusiastic Donor Relations Assistant to support our Financial Development Team. This entry-level, part-time position plays an important role in helping us build meaningful relationships with our donors while supporting fundraising campaigns, community events, and donor stewardship efforts.

Reporting to the Donor Relations Director, you'll assist with fundraising administration, donor communications, event support, and data management that help advance the YMCA's mission of strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

This position offers a flexible schedule averaging approximately 75 hours per month. Weekly hours will vary based on fundraising events and organizational needs. Some weeks may be approximately 10 hours, while others may be up to 30 hours during peak fundraising and event periods. Flexibility is essential.


What You'll Do
Fundraising & Event Support

  • Provide administrative support for fundraising campaigns, donor events, and stewardship activities.
  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising events and donor-focused meetings.
  • Help ensure successful event logistics before, during, and after fundraising initiatives.


Donor Stewardship

  • Support donor stewardship efforts by assisting with timely donor acknowledgments, tax receipts, billing, and recognition.
  • Help coordinate tribute gifts, annual giving statements, and other donor appreciation initiatives.
  • Contribute to creating an exceptional donor experience through thoughtful communication and attention to detail.


Data & Gift Management

  • Enter, update, and maintain donor and campaign records to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Assist with processing gifts, pledges, and payment reconciliation in partnership with the Finance Department.
  • Support accurate recordkeeping and reporting for fundraising activities.


Communications Support

  • Assist with preparing newsletters, donor communications, personalized thank-you letters, and other stewardship materials.
  • Support the creation of fundraising and donor relations marketing materials.
  • Help maintain consistent communication with donors and community partners.


Administrative & Cross-Department Support

  • Serve as an administrative liaison between the Development Team and internal departments, including Finance and Marketing.
  • Coordinate with external vendors as needed to support fundraising initiatives and donor recognition.
  • Assist with additional administrative projects that support the overall success of the Financial Development Team.

Qualifications
What We're Looking For

We're looking for an organized, detail-oriented professional who is passionate about supporting meaningful fundraising efforts and creating exceptional donor experiences.



  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework, an Associate's degree, or equivalent professional experience preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Canva, and Adobe Creative Suite preferred.
  • Experience with donor management databases, fundraising software, or event management platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with donors, volunteers, vendors, and internal staff.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Ability to work on a computer for extended periods while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and transport event materials and supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and assist with event setup and breakdown as needed.
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends in support of fundraising events and donor engagement activities.
