Lab Technician (Entry)

POSITION SUMMARY
In line with the global strategy and business objectives of Research and Development Services, LLC, to manage an expedient and accurate global distribution of samples to various external and internal customers for the purpose of evaluating NA and Global Development studies to support new and re-registration of products.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
* Processing Sample Orders via SampleFlow ChemOps Applications.
* Prepare Sample Orders for shipping and attach appropriate SDS(s) when required.
* Scan each sample order and its samples for packaging into shipping container, complete the shipping process according to IATA and/or DOT regulations, and file the shipping documents.
* Assist in completing international shipments and communicating shipping details.
* Physically conduct and reconcile sample inventories (current, bulk, and GLP) in SampleFlow ChemOps Applications and create Excel inventory reports.
* Responsible for receiving packages for the SampleFlow ChemOps team and maintaining accurate records for future references.
* Maintain the Certificate of Analysis archive for GLP samples.
* Assist in overseeing the restricted GLP cage area where GLP samples are maintained and secured according to GLP regulations.
* Sub-filling sample containers adhering to all HSE, SDS and site safety policies. Apply FIFRA research sample labels, and stickers according to process orders. Scan samples into the inventory and complete process order.
* Aliquot Analytical Standards adhering to all HSE, SDS and site safety policies.
* Ability to identify questionable test substances based on appearance and consult SampleFlow ChemOps manager.
* Ability to read and follow all aspects of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) requirements for chemical handling.
* Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) filing for the SampleFlow ChemOps Inventory, retrieving SDS from Global QHSE database, other Ag manufactures/suppliers databases.
* Maintain bulk inventory with appropriate labels, scan to physical location and place containers on appropriate shelves.
* Assist in ordering, receiving, and organizing supplies in their designated areas for the SampleFlow ChemOps team.
* Assist the SampleFlow ChemOps team with other duties as requested.
* Comply with all IATA and DOT trainings,
* Comply with all lab procedures for safety and quality assurance, as well as all policies.
* Report to and notify the designated SampleFlow ChemOps representative of any discrepancies with orders, computer and application problems, and other issues that may arise with the samples process.

REQUIREMENTS/PREFERENCES
Education Requirement(s):
* Associate degree or its equivalent and 0-3 years of related experience
* Preferred Degree in the Science field

Skill & Competency Requirements: (list 3 to 5 non-negotiable items such as years of experience, industry of preference, specific knowledge items, professional certifications, skills, abilities, etc.)
* Knowledge of safe chemical handling
* Knowledge of inventory maintenance
* High computer literacy
* Able to work fast, effective, and safe
* Able to lift up to 50 lbs.

PPE Requirements: Lab coat, gloves, safety glasses, safety toe shoes
Working Conditions: Lab, office, and logistics setting. Frequent sitting, standing, moving, lifting.

If driving, what will they be driving?: n/a
If lifting, how many pounds?: Frequently 20-25 lbs from shelving racks, and in fume hoods (2.5-gallon chemical containers). Sometimes up to 50-55lbs for a short duration.
Any chemicals?: Hazardous and Non-Hazardous chemicals, Crop Protection Chemicals and Analytical Standards.

Worker Shift Start Time: 8:00 AM
* Worker Shift End Time: 4:30 PM
* Worker Break Schedule: One 30-minute lunch unpaid, Two 15-minute breaks paid
