Dematic is seeking a strategic Warranty Cost of Quality Lead to own and drive enterprise-wide warranty cost reduction and defect elimination. This role is accountable for transforming warranty data into action-identifying systemic issues, influencing cross-functional leadership, and leading disciplined root-cause and prevention initiatives.

This is a highly visible, influence-driven role focused on eliminating repeat failures, improving customer satisfaction, and shifting the organization from reactive warranty resolution to proactive prevention. The role manages outcomes and decisions-not people-and requires strong analytical capability, effective communication, and the ability to lead difficult, data-backed conversations.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $102,750 to $140,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

Tasks and Qualifications:

What You Will Do in This Role

Warranty Analytics & Insight

  • Own enterprise warranty analytics, identifying systemic failure modes, cost drivers, and emerging risks.
  • Drive decisions and prioritization across the business that influence project execution, manufacturing, R&D, and lifecycle solutions & services.

Warranty Cost Reduction & Prevention

  • Lead cross-functional root cause investigations on high-cost and recurring warranty issues using problem solving / Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Drive permanent corrective actions and verify effectiveness post-implementation.
  • Establish and track measurable warranty reduction targets.

Leadership & Accountability

  • Lead difficult conversations with business leaders to drive accountability for defect drivers within their organization and quality outcomes.
  • Challenge assumptions and decisions using facts, analytics, and customer impact.
  • Influence without authority to align cross-functional teams around correction and prevention.

Culture & Capability Building

  • Champion a shift from reactive warranty response to proactive quality ownership.
  • Embed a cost-of-poor-quality mindset across engineering, manufacturing, and project execution.
  • Elevate the organization's use of data in warranty and reliability decision-making.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Business or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in quality, continuous improvement, cost of quality or related fields.
  • Demonstrated, quantified success in reducing warranty, defects, or costs of poor quality through data-driven initiatives.
  • Ability to analyze complex data sets and translate insights into executive-level recommendations.
  • Experience leading cross-functional root cause or cost-reduction initiatives with measurable impact.
  • Proven ability to influence business leaders without direct authority.
  • Comfortable operating in high-ambiguity environments and driving decisions without formal authority
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt or Quality certification is strongly preferred.
  • Experience using data to identify risks/issues and prevent repeat failures.
  • Proven engineering experience is preferred.
  • Experience with direct customer contact is helpful.
  • Business insight paired with strong analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities.
