Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Shipping IIto support domestic and international shipping operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for preparing and processing shipments, coordinating with freight carriers, generating shipping documentation, packaging raw materials and finished goods, and ensuring compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and experienced with shipping software and export documentation.

Job Responsibilities



  • Prepare and process domestic and international shipments in accordance with company procedures and shipping regulations.
  • Coordinate shipments with freight forwarders and transportation providers.
  • Consolidate shipments to maximize efficiency and reduce shipping costs.
  • Package raw materials and finished goods using appropriate packaging methods to ensure safe delivery.
  • Generate shipping labels, export documentation, and related shipping records.
  • Process shipments using shipping software and warehouse management systems.
  • Enter shipping data accurately and maintain shipment records.
  • Provide shipment tracking information to internal departments and customers as requested.
  • Operate barcode scanners and related warehouse technology.
  • Process outgoing mail using company mailing equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with domestic and international shipping regulations and company procedures.
  • Participate in Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing teams to support customer requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Minimum of 2 years of shipping or logistics experience.
  • Experience processing domestic and international shipments.
  • Experience coordinating shipments with freight forwarders.
  • Knowledge of export shipping regulations and documentation.
  • Experience using shipping software such as UPS WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and DHL shipping systems.
  • Experience with the Automated Export System (AES).
  • Experience preparing shipping documentation, including airway bills, Shipper's Export Declarations (SEDs), and Shipper's Letters of Instruction (SLIs).
  • Experience packaging raw materials and finished goods using proper shipping techniques.
  • Hazardous materials shipping experience, including Lithium-Ion battery shipments, is preferred.
  • Experience working with inventory, shipping, or ERP databases preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional attitude, reliability, and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.


Education



  • High school diploma or GED required.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of 2 years of shipping, logistics, warehouse, or distribution experience required.
  • Experience with domestic and international shipping operations required.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
