Job Summary

Our client is seeking a Senior Customer Account Manager to manage a portfolio of customer accounts, including OEMs, airlines, maintenance providers, and distribution partners. This role is responsible for developing strong customer relationships, managing the full order fulfillment lifecycle, preparing quotations and proposals, coordinating cross-functional activities, and ensuring exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate has experience in account management within a manufacturing or aerospace environment and excels at managing multiple priorities while building long-term customer relationships.

Job Responsibilities



  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts.
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
  • Review customer requests, contracts, RFQs, and RFPs to prepare accurate quotations and proposals.
  • Coordinate with internal departments to ensure customer requirements are understood and fulfilled.
  • Support contract negotiations, customer program reviews, audits, and proposal activities.
  • Lead customer meetings, conference calls, and project discussions to ensure customer objectives are achieved.
  • Manage customer forecasts and collaborate with internal teams to support inventory and delivery requirements.
  • Monitor order status from receipt through shipping and communicate progress to customers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding quotes, order status, delivery schedules, and service issues.
  • Review customer claims and provide analysis to support internal business functions.
  • Develop recovery plans for delayed orders and identify root causes with corrective actions.
  • Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to expand business with existing customers.
  • Prepare account metrics, sales reports, forecasts, and performance updates for leadership.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Contracts, Pricing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Finance, Manufacturing, Shipping, and Sales.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Job Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of experience in account management, contract administration, customer service, project management, quality, or supply chain within a manufacturing, operations, or aerospace environment; or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of ten years of related experience.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and complex customer programs.
  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contracts, proposals, RFQs, and RFPs.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience coordinating multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Understanding of manufacturing operations, supply chain, contracts, and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with aerospace customers and industry practices is preferred.
  • Understanding of federal regulations, corporate finance, and project financial principles is preferred.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must meet applicable export control requirements for positions involving regulated technologies.


Education



  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED accepted with equivalent experience.


Work Experience



  • Minimum of three years of experience with a bachelor's degree in account management, contract administration, customer service, project management, quality, or supply chain within a manufacturing, operations, or aerospace environment.
  • Or a minimum of ten years of related experience with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Aerospace industry experience is preferred.
