The Neuro Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NNICU) at UVA Health is seeking an RN who is energized by complexity, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is passionate about delivering exceptional care to some of the health system's most critically ill patients. As a member of this highly specialized ICU team, you will care for patients requiring advanced neurological monitoring, complex interventions, and multidisciplinary critical care management. The Role The Neuro Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NNICU) is a fast-paced, high-acuity environment that cares for patients with some of the most complex neurological and neurosurgical conditions. The unit provides specialized care for patients experiencing acute stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, neurological trauma, spinal cord injury, complex neuromuscular disorders, and patients recovering from neurosurgical procedures. In this role, you will be challenged clinically, supported by a highly collaborative team, and exposed to advanced technologies and treatment modalities that are not commonly available in many ICUs across the country. No two shifts are the same. Nurses in the NNICU are constantly learning, adapting, and applying critical thinking skills in an environment where clinical expertise can make a life-changing difference for patients and families. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education: Graduate of an accredited nursing program required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire. Experience: 1 year of relevant experience. Licensure: Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia. American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling, bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; Attention to detail and ability to write legibly; Ability to lift/push/pull 20 - 50lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, blood/body fluids and infectious disease. The pay range for this role is $39.90 - $53.00 hourly.
