Job Description

The Licensed (or License Eligible) Mental Health Therapist plays a key leadership role within the agency, bringing strong clinical skills and working independently. They provide advanced mental health care through both individual and group therapy, using proven treatment methods tailored to the unique needs of those they serve. Core responsibilities include crisis intervention, risk assessments, diagnostic evaluations (using the DSM), short-term stabilization, and discharge planning. This role requires creating thoughtful treatment plans for a diverse population, while working closely with both in-house teams and outside providers-all within the framework of the agency's policies and procedures.

Minimum Requirements

  • A master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, family therapy, or a related field.

  • One of the following Missouri licenses (or working toward it): LCSW, LPC, LMFT, PLPC, LMSW, or PLMFT.

  • If not yet licensed, you must agree to begin the process upon hire and follow all required steps under supervision.

  • Knowledge of mental health terms, diagnosis, and treatment approaches.

  • Basic research skills and a solid understanding of mental health theory and practice.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.

  • Good judgment, adaptability, and leadership qualities.

  • Must complete training as assigned during onboarding.

  • If driving is part of your role, you must meet company driving policy standards and maintain them.
