Job Summary

The role of the TRC Case Manager is to assess community and resource support systems for participants, victims of crime, and and their families; assist with formulating patient-centered care plans; assist patients and their families with navigation of health system and community resources; and arrange and monitor the provision of social services and mental health services for TRC patients. Salary offers are based on experience and departmental equity

Minimum Qualifications - For full consideration, applicants are encouraged to upload license and/or certification if required of the position

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
  • Experience working on a multidisciplinary team supporting mental health therapists.
  • Experience working with youth and young adults affected by violence or involved with the Justice System.
  • Knowledge of intervention techniques and trauma-informed practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of CITI Basis course for Social and Behavioral Researchers and Staff within 3 months of hire
  • Completion of Mental Health Frist Aid training within 3 months of hire
  • Experience working with Hospital-Based Violence Intervention Program (HVIP).
  • Experience in health care or hospital settings.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations

Department Overview

The vision of the Department of Pediatrics is the healthiest future for all children and families, with a mission dedicated to creating a healthy future for all children through outstanding patient care, transformative research, innovative medical education, and community-based advocacy. As part of this mission, the purpose of the CAARE Diagnostic and Treatment Center is to provide culturally responsive, trauma informed patient care (mental health services), teaching and research on behalf of abused/neglected and at-risk children. The CAARE Center specializes in treating childhood trauma, offering evidence-based treatment within a multidisciplinary setting that values staff wellness. Mental health services are provided to children ages 0 to 21 through various service contracts and grants across settings, including outpatient clinics, pediatric clinics, juvenile hall, and community settings.

All therapists are trained in at least two evidence-based treatments and supervision is provided for those accruing hours towards licensure.

The UCD Trauma Recovery Center is a collaboration between the CAARE Center, the UC Davis Health Wraparound Hospital-based Violence Intervention Program (HVIP), and the UC Davis Health Violence Prevention Research Program (VPRP). The UCD-TRC will be co-located with the Wraparound program on UC Davis Health campus to provide a multidisciplinary team approach to comprehensive services for victims of crime ages 0-26 years old.
