Marketing Associate - 2027 Leadership Development Program

Job Summary

The Marketing Leadership Development Program (MLDP) accelerates professional development by placing participants in key marketing roles and functions during a two-year rotational program. The program welcomes candidates who bring technical thinking to strategic marketing challenges across the business. Individuals get hands-on experience by going through four rotations to gain key marketing competencies and will support a wide range of functions and initiatives that enable company growth. Participants will rotate through project-based roles in the key areas, including market research, industry management, product management, digital marketing, and marketing communications. During each rotation, they will establish relationships with peers and leaders, learn fundamental marketing skills and receive feedback from the program manager. Upon completion of the program, successful candidates can explore full-time roles within Avient that best suits their personal and professional goals and match business needs.

Essential Functions

• Analyze data to support key marketing metrics and facilitate performance improvements across campaigns and initiatives.
• Translate technical concepts and product performance data into clear, compelling messaging for business and senior audiences.
• Independently conduct and synthesize secondary market research and analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Gain an understanding of the various Avient businesses from a financial, operational, and strategic standpoint.
• Participate in cross-functional project teams across business units.
• Interact with senior management, build relationships with other employees across the globe and make a difference in Avient's future success.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• BA/BS or MBA degree with emphasis in Marketing, Business Administration/ Development, or related field.
• Candidates with a degree in engineering, or a dual path combining engineering with business, marketing, or business development, are strongly encouraged to apply.
• Demonstrated technical experience in applied research and development, product or formulation design, applications engineering, or related applied roles is preferred.
• Experience conducting secondary market research and competitive analysis to support business decisions is a plus.
• Relevant internship experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Proven problem-solving skills, including the capacity to gather, synthesize, and evaluate data from multiple sources using a range of business intelligence and reporting tools, then draw insights and recommend actionable next steps.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for business and senior audiences.
• Team player with strong project coordination and organization skills required.
