Pad Crew 2 PDC

The Pad Crew 2 supports the assembly, installation, rig-up, and rig-down of fabrication units on designated drilling pads. This position performs hands-on work while developing knowledge of Rig-Up Yard processes, rig components, tools, equipment, and established construction procedures.

Pad Crew 2 personnel assist with inspecting, organizing, and preparing materials and equipment required for rig construction and provide training and support to new Pad Crew personnel as experience and proficiency are developed. This position works under the direction of the Pad Foreman and Assistant Pad Foreman and is expected to perform work safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies and established procedures.

Detailed Description

• Assist with the assembly, installation, rig-up, and rig-down of rig components and fabrication units.
• Operate air-powered and hand tools, including ratchets, wrenches, pushing sticks, tag lines, driving pins, sledgehammers, and other tools as required.
• Inspect incoming and outgoing materials and fabricated units to verify accuracy and identify potential issues.
• Sort, stack, organize, and maintain materials and inventory required for the new-build process.
• Assist with maintaining jobsite cleanliness and organization, including safety houses and conexes.
• Assist with keeping tools and equipment clean, organized, and in functional condition.
• Assist with tracking tools assigned to the Pad Foreman.
• Participate in pre- and post-tour meetings and follow communicated work priorities and safety expectations.
• Provide orientation for jobsite visitors as directed.
• Collaborate with Pad Crew personnel, Pad Foremen, Assistant Pad Foremen, third parties, and management in a safe and productive manner.
• Learn and apply company policies, guidelines, methods, and standards established to support a quality-driven and incident-free culture.
• Train and assist new Rig-Up Yard crew members on established processes, procedures, and general use of equipment and tools as directed.
• Develop and maintain knowledge of rig components, including engines, drawworks, mud pumps, top drives, and other major rig systems.
• Perform assigned tasks efficiently while handling multiple responsibilities during the rig-up and rig-down process.
• All other duties as assigned.

• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to maintain situational awareness and spatial orientation in an active work environment.
• Ability to remain alert and focused during extended work periods.
• Maintain required certifications, including Hot Weather Safety, Confined Space, Forklift, Man Lift, and Fire Extinguisher Safety.
• Successfully complete established training courses.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of stable related work history, such as farming, ranching, construction, heavy equipment, or another trade, or military service.

• Minimum of 3 months of experience working in a Rig-Up Yard or in a rig-based position at the Motorhand level or higher.

• Minimum of 3 months of experience using hand and power tools.

• Minimum of 3 months of experience working with rig components, such as engines, drawworks, mud pumps, or top drives.

Preferred Qualifications

• General understanding of rig construction and rig operations.
• Experience working in a construction, heavy equipment, mechanical, or similar environment.

Additional Details

This position requires work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, including precipitation, cold, heat, high winds, and turbulent conditions. The incumbent must be able to continuously walk, climb, step, and stand while navigating active work sites and uneven surfaces.

The position requires a strong emphasis on safety for oneself, coworkers, and third parties. The work schedule may vary based on business needs and may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
