Senior Quality Engineer Location:Bethel, CT Pay:$50.00 per hour 26-10520 Job Summary The Senior Quality Engineer will support quality activities for the manufacturing of pressure sensors used in commercial, military, and space applications. This role will oversee quality processes across the product lifecycle, including supplier oversight, production, testing, final acceptance, corrective actions, and customer support. The position will work closely with internal teams, suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies to ensure products meet quality, technical, and regulatory requirements. Job Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality standards, systems, and processes for manufacturing operations.
- Develop methods and procedures for inspection, testing, measurement, and evaluation of products.
- Interface with suppliers and external customers to investigate and resolve product quality issues.
- Develop procedures and documentation for recording, analyzing, and evaluating quality data.
- Develop and implement methods for dispositioning discrepant material and assessing associated costs.
- Provide quality engineering support to internal and external customers and suppliers.
- Support production personnel with product measurement, testing, and quality data collection activities.
- Develop training materials and conduct training related to quality processes and procedures.
- Perform supplier quality activities, including purchase order reviews, supplier nonconformance resolution, and review of corrective action responses.
- Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities, including disposition and processing of scrap material.
- Serve as a quality liaison with customers and government agencies, including the FAA and DCMA.
- Participate in internal and external audits, product audits, customer reviews, and other quality assessments.
- Respond to customer requests for quality and technical information.
- Coordinate quality activities associated with an FAA-certified Repair Station.
- Support root cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, engineering, or a related technical environment, with quality-focused manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or another technical field from an accredited institution.
- Experience understanding and interpreting technical data.
- Knowledge of measurement systems and quality inspection methods.
- Understanding of statistics, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- Ability to work effectively with suppliers, customers, manufacturing teams, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience in aerospace, medical device, defense, or another highly regulated industry strongly preferred.
- Ability to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
- Must meet U.S. person requirements under ITAR regulations, including U.S. citizenship, U.S. permanent residency, or qualifying protected status.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in another technical discipline may be considered based on relevant experience.
