Position Summary:
This position is the subject matter expert for Punches, Dies, Cutting tools. A broad knowledge of stamping processes and Cutting tools will be utilized to develop and implement machinery, tools, and equipment for new and existing components.
Plan, Manage, & coordinate all tooling functions for the NH and AR facility, including inter-unit, purchasing, inventory control, receiving, tool crib. Plan & manage the procurement of a large variety of complex tooling to effectively support the production requirements for the plants; oversee the review and negotiation of purchase price, quality, availability, delivery, and other factors necessary to ensure the overall conformance of tooling purchased to manufacturing specifications and overall company production objectives; manage and coordinate tooling inventories and services.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of interaction of internal and external customers and in a diverse atmosphere.
*Collaborate with tooling Vendor Solutions and tool Control teams to design customer specific fulfillment plans including SIG VMI programs, kitting, or JIT supply programs.
*Manages the Guhring TM Solutions and Tool Boss -which could include standard Vendor Managed Inventory, Vending, and may require ordering, product put away and optimization.
*Works closely with vendors to locate sources for product, produce quotes, expedite orders, and arrange product training.
*Leverage Subject Matter Experts to assess and identify improvement opportunities as it pertains to Tooling Performance, inventory management.
*Drive day-to-day tooling activities to meet the overall program objectives with a heavy focus on tooling release, tooling trial schedule oversight, and tool qualifications.
*Collaborate with engineering, operations, and our supply base partners to meet aggressive schedule, quality and volume targets.
*Stay ahead of technological trends to continuously enhance our tooling capabilities.
*Oversee the entire lifecycle of tooling, including readiness, tracking, and reporting, ensuring all tools are optimized for performance and scalability.
*Implement robust strategies for lifecycle management to ensure long-term tooling sustainability.
*Drive the gathering and refinement of requirements for Tooling & actively interfacing with key stakeholders across the SIG organization.
*Maintain knowledge and awareness of market changes in commodities to be purchased to ensure the availability of products/materials for manufacturing functions at competitive prices and within alternate sources of supply to meet production requirements of the plant.
*Develop and maintain effective contacts and working relationships with key suppliers.
Plan, recommend, justify, and manage annual operating budgets and financial targets in accordance with known operational needs, strategies, and objectives.
*Excellent time management and planning skills.
*Previous experience assisting MFG Engineers on problem analysis and resolution.
*Complete understanding of manufacturing processes for carbide round tool such *Cutting Tools, Punches and Dies.
*Aptitude for detail with the ability to work in a team environment required.
*Firearm and ammunition experience along with a knowledge of the Metal Cutting and stamping industry strongly preferred.
*Works with the design engineers on Alternate carbide grades, and configuration control of new and existing products.
*Ensure a seamless transition from prototype to fully developed products to support steady state production.

Education and/or Experience:
*Minimum 5 years of experience as a tooling engineer in the field or equivalent experience.
*Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing, Industrial, or Mechanical Engineering required.
*Practical experience with equipment, machining, and fabrication.
*Four or more years of technical knowledge of tooling application within industrial, automotive, aerospace, or special application.
*Four or more years of experience as a Technical Sales Engineer or Technical Support in the cutting tool or machining industry is preferred.
*Firearm and ammunition experience along with a knowledge of machining strongly preferred.
*General understanding of accounting principles, industrial engineering, and manufacturing processes.

Working Conditions:
*Able to lift up to 25 pounds.
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
