Under the general direction of Dr. Lee, the person in this role will contribute to scientific-research programs and research-projects for the UCSF OCD Program relating to developing and testing personalized, circuit-targeted deep brain stimulation (DBS) as a treatment for severe treatment-resistant obsessive-compulsive disorder using advanced brain mapping strategies. We seek an associate specialist who will assist in performing acquisition of human imaging and brain recordings, data analysis, and assist with regulatory aspects of this DBS project. Responsibilities will include: Contributing to the progress of research processes/strategies; analysis supporting, including time/frequency analysis of large-scale and longitudinal human electrophysiological data, peripheral physiological data, and symptom reports. This person will employ machine learning techniques to develop and test models of neural representations of disease symptom states; contribution to regulatory submissions to IRB and FDA; communication with collaborators (industrial and nonindustrial); assist with patient recruitment, communication, and management throughout the trial; contribute materials to grant submissions; prepare conference presentations and academic publications.
