About the role:

As a Principal I&C Test Engineer on the Advanced Reactors I&C team, you will be responsible for designing/authoring, overseeing, and performing various tests on hardware and software for the FPGA-based Advanced Logic System (ALS) platform and eVinci I&C systems. You will report to the Manager, Advanced Reactors I&C and be based out of the Westinghouse global headquarters location in Cranberry Township, PA, working a hybrid schedule.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Translate design requirements into test procedures and cases.
  • Author and review test plans, test procedures and test reports for a various I&C components, ranging from individual electrical components and printed circuit boards (PCBs), up to entire integrated systems of I&C hardware and software.
  • Directly perform test procedures and oversee less experienced engineers and technicians performing test procedures in test labs on the production floor.
  • Perform debugging, tracking and resolution of test issues and failures.
  • Maintain independence from design activities by performing test functions under the Independent Verification and Validation group.
  • Travel to other local/regional Westinghouse, vendor and customer sites in support of testing activities as needed in support of project activities, approximately 10%.



Qualifications:



  • 10+ years of experience.
  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant field of study.
  • Understanding of field devices and control devices typical to the I&C industry, such as current loops, resistance temperature detectors (RTDs), and thermocouples.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products and bug tracking software/concepts.
  • Awareness of typical industry standard drawings including P&IDs, loop diagrams, cabinet drawings, panel layouts, and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of analog and digital circuit analysis and design.
  • Knowledge of lab equipment use (oscilloscope, multimeter, function generator, etc.).
  • AutoCAD, Altium, or PCB/schematic capture tools knowledge is a plus.
  • LabView experience is a plus in either creating LabView code from scratch, or with tracing and making modifications to existing code.
  • Software programming/scripting skills are desired.
