Get to Know Your Team:

  • Lovelace Women's Hospital is a 53-bed advanced neonatal intensive care unit, family care unit, an award-winning breast care center and the first robotic surgery program in the state recognized as a Center of Excellence in Robotic Surgery by Surgical Review Corporation.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, equipment, and sterile field setup including sterilization methods

  • Support physician's surgical practice in a variety of procedures including a specialty in the operating room

  • Function as a team member in planning for special needs of patients

  • Consistently demonstrate performance in a manner conducive to safe, efficient and swift completion and turnover of a surgical procedure

  • Ensure accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments used in all procedures at all times

  • Responsible for completing basic OR Tech competencies in addition to departmental specific competencies

  • Take ownership of assignments; other duties as assigned or requested
  • Communicate and listen effectively with internal and external customers; effectively understands instructions and shares knowledge

  • Cooperates and interact with supervisors, peers, other departments, and all customer groups demonstrating our commitment to "service"


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Graduate of accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program
  • Six (6) months experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit
  • CPR

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Certified OR Tech
  • 1 year OR experience
  • CORT or CST
